National Pack Rat Day
Today is National Pack Rat Day! No really, it actually exists. But instead of being a day to celebrate or be proud of accomplishments, it is a day for reflection. Are you a pack rat? Do others call you a pack rat? Do you save items because they have sentimental meaning? Are you honoring those meanings or the people who gave them to you by displaying those items or are they buried away in the attic, basement, under the bed or in the back of your closet. Here are a few ideas for pairing down but still living with what truly matters to you.
1. Share items with other family members
2. Make it into something functional- you can DIY almost anything, look it up on Google or youtube .
3. Scan photo and put them in cloud storage that other family and friends can assess.
4. Start a family blog with photos and stories. Let the items go to charity when possible.
5. Make something old in something new
