Energy Healing and Neurodiversity

This month, I have teamed up with Stacey Philips with Fresh Start in my continuing series of co-authoring blogs.

Are you feeling stuck? You’re not alone! We can feel stuck in many aspects of life- relationship, career, depression, negative thought patterns, grief, weight loss, etc. We can even have a vibrational message, “I’m stuck,” which works like a self-fulfilling prophecy; it attracts negative energy that reinforces this feeling.

What is energy healing?

Energy healing is an alternative approach to wellness. Based on quantum physics, we are beings of energy and vibration. We are comprised of energy, surrounded by energy, and it connects our entire universe. It removes interference in the body, so our bodies can heal emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. There are two types of energy healing The Emotion Code and The Body Code.

  • Emotion Code is focused on releasing trapped emotions.
  • Body Code is focused on realigning the chakras (energy centers and meridians (energy networks) of the body and helping to heal from physical manifestations of emotions like:
    • Anxiety
    • Depression
    • PTSD
    • Sleep issues
    • Eating disorders
    • Chronic pain
    • Migraines
    • Disconnections
    • Negative energetic cords with others
    • Neurological and body system imbalances

Many of these are co-morbid conditions with neurodiversity.

An energy healer like Stacey can release trapped emotions. They can also release vibrational messages like “I’m stuck,” which you may be sending out to the universe and attracting to your body.

What happens in an energy session?

Here is a basic outline of what a session usually looks like:

  • Discuss areas of need/desire in a phone conversation
  • Tap into the client’s energy with a photo (the session is done entirely remote)
  • Ask questions of the subconscious mind to find out what needs to be released or realigned
  • Magnetic energy release and realignment via the governing meridian (energy network) of the body
  • Review of the energy session (optional)

Energy sessions are done remotely and therefore don’t require an appointment. Life changes can happen while you’re sleeping, working, hiking, or doing whatever brings you joy.

Although we’re never truly stuck, the feeling can be overwhelming and affect our mental and physical health. Recognizing that there are options can be the beginning of a massive shift. For some people, this recognition of options is enough. For others, that first step feels unreachable.

According to Brené Brown in Atlas of the Heart, most people can identify three emotions when experiencing them. Those emotions are happy, sad, and mad. But what about:

  • Overwhelm
  • Hopelessness
  • Helplessness
  • Lack of control
  • Discouragement
  • Frustration
  • Resentment
  • Dread
  • Serene
  • Optimistic
  • Engrossed
  • Elated

The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.” — Ludwig Wittgenstein

All emotions should be felt and processed. Research shows that when you have a great vocabulary to describe your emotions:

  • You have better emotional regulation
  • Can identify emotions faster in yourself and others
  • Manage the ups and downs of life better
  • Have better psychosocial well being

When you notice sensations in your body (headache, muscle stiffness, upset stomach, etc.), try to follow these steps:

  • Identify the emotion, name it as precisely as you can
  • Welcome that energy – it is okay to feel uncomfortable, do it in a palace where you feel safe if you need to.
  • If you are in a location where it is appropriate and find it helpful to cry, yell, or stomp, then do that.
  • If you prefer journaling, talking to a friend, cleaning, gardening, or going for a run, then do that.
  • This step is the critical part – Let it go!
    • You can do this by ripping up the journal page, visualizing the emotion or physical pain washing away in the ocean, or being thrown off a mountain top.
    • If you have trouble doing that on your own, bring it to coaching or hire Stacey.

How to avoid trapped emotions?

  • If you aren’t receiving the signals from your body (and many NDs don’t), try practicing somatic tracking or mindfulness. (Blog about the difference that may be coming in the future.)
  • Try Super Successful Moments Journal – writing down moments when things went well so that when the negative self-talk creeps in, you have something to read that reassures you that you are as amazing as you are.

As we let go of emotions, our load is lightened, and we can naturally feel lighter. Take a moment to appreciate that lightness before moving on to the next thing you need to do.

If you feel like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel, you may benefit from energy healing, coaching, or both.
